Brand Values

“Branding is what people say about you when you're not in the room”.

What are Brand Values?

As I mentioned in another article here, branding is what people think about you and your brand.  A famous quote which really hit it on the mark is from Jeff Bezos founder of Amazon, he says…

“Branding is what people say about you when you’re not in the room”.

Brand values are one way you can nurture those conversations, brand values are the guiding principles that your business stands for and believes in and it is very important that you let people know about them to build out your reputation. It is also important that you are consistent in these beliefs and values and they are a part of the fabric of everyday life at your business.

Brand values are the set of beliefs that drive your business decisions, actions, and behaviours. Brand values can help you establish a strong connection with your target audience by demonstrating your company’s personality, culture, and priorities.

Here are a few examples of brand values:

  1. Authenticity: This brand value is all about being genuine and transparent with your customers. You can demonstrate authenticity by sharing behind-the-scenes content, being honest about your company’s challenges and successes, and staying true to your values even when it’s not easy.
  2. Innovation: If your business values innovation, you are always looking for new and better ways to solve problems and improve your products or services. You might be constantly experimenting with new technologies or processes, and you’re always open to feedback and new ideas.
  3. Sustainability: A business that values sustainability is committed to minimizing its environmental impact and promoting social responsibility. You might use eco-friendly materials, reduce waste, or donate a portion of your profits to a charitable cause.
  4. Customer-focused: If your business values customer service, you prioritize the needs and satisfaction of your customers. You might offer exceptional support, create personalized experiences, or listen to customer feedback to continually improve your products or services.

These are just a few examples of brand values, and there are many more that could be relevant to your business. The key is to choose values that are authentic to your business, align with your mission and goals, and resonate with your target audience. By doing so, you can create a strong and authentic brand identity that stands out in a crowded marketplace.
